The Michaëlle Jean Centre for Global and Community Engagement features a dedicated member of our volunteer community each month.
If you know a devoted and inspiring person who is making a difference, having a positive impact on the community and the people around them, who you think deserves to be acknowledged, please send an email to servingothers@uOttawa.ca

Factors used to evaluate
Impact of Community Engagement
The Volunteer of the Month must be engaged and involved in a community, whether it be local or international. Volunteers must have an impact on the health and well-being of community in which they get involved. Service hours are a good indicator of someone’s involvement, but it doesn’t constitute the only measure. The importance and the positive impact on community are also to be considered.
The Centre aims to provide an opportunity to showcase the work done by student volunteers in all faculties, regardless of the year or program or year of study, gender or nationality.
Nomination and Selection
A small committee made up of MJCGCE staff chooses the Volunteer of the Month, however, we encourage nominations from uOttawa faculties, services or community partners.
