Alternative Student Break

The Alternative Student Break (ASB) program is designed to give students the opportunity to participate in a unique volunteer service learning placement during the October and/or February Study Week.

ASB begins with project planning and team-building activities and culminates in a local community service project and critical reflection on what was accomplished.  Each group is led by a uOttawa student Team Leader.

Why choose the Alternative Student Break?

The goal of ASB is to achieve lasting, positive outcomes for uOttawa students and for local communities.  ASB allows students to build skills, meet new students, learn about, and take action on local development challenges.  At the same time, ASB increases community capacity to respond to local needs by linking up local and global organizations with uOttawa student volunteers.
